A walk in the bluffs on a 16th Birthday

On October 4th, our second oldest son turned 16!! After a yummy lunch Erik and some of his family went for a hike on the trails, in the bluffs, along Winona. Erik has always been our outdoors man!!! Here he willingly posed for a picture on a fallen log along the path!

Big brother Erik, with little brother Sam, lead the hike. "Me and mini-me" as Erik affectionately refers to himself and his youngest brother! And oh how true that is!!! In more ways than one!! (I thought this photo was precious!!!) After hiking for a while, we came to a map of the trails that we were on!! No need to worry, it would be hard to get lost where we were hiking!! But our son helped to point out the variations of paths we could take!! I think Erik will be on these paths more often now!!

After a hike and the return home, we enjoyed supper and birthday cake!! Yumm!! 16 candles certainly can give off a glow!! What a fun and special day to spend with our son!! He is a real blessing from our Loving God!!
