The high schoolers have put in a week already, and now its the grade schoolers turn to start. Katy, Nick and Sam started school on September 1 at St. Matthew's School. For the most part, they were all excited... especially Sam! He's off to Kindergarten and his very first day of school. Let the pictures below show... the kids are happy to go to school, and Mom and Dad are happy they're at school too. (Aside - These three needed to get to school. It was time. All you parents will know what I mean. :- D)
This is Sam in his Kindergarten room. He loves class and of course recess. His big news from school... three days of school, six kickball homeruns, 1 friend bopped in the head with the ball, and "I don't like school's chicken tenders." He did eat them, though. Good for him. ... And we wondered just how wiped out he'd be after a full day of school. Ding dong, we were wrong. Sam's class numbers 15... 4 boys and ELEVEN girls. Someday he'll appreciate that ratio.
This is Nick. He's in 4th Grade. Nick's news for the first three days: "Math is awesome!" His class is full of 15 students and Nick is the second oldest. Nick's class doesn't really like to play kickball (they probably kick the ball too far), but they've played dodgeball and gone to a park a block away. Nick DOES love the chicken tenders.
Here's Katy sitting at her desk in 7th Grade. This year she is blessed / maybe cursed / to have her Dad as her confirmation teacher. YEA!!^&)!#"? Confirmation is great so far... she's had the difficult task of watching a Martin Luther movie that took two days. You know. she can stay awake at home watching a movie. Why can't students pretend movies at school are like movies at home? Katy's room is a combo room of 7th and 8th Grades. 7th Grade = 7 students, 8th Grade = 15 students. Katy's lunchroom news: "I like the mashed potatoes."
Here are the three "honor" students heading into school on their first day. Don't they look so innocent!!?? (Bet they'll be the first to talk to the principal.) Actually, the Lord has blessed us with awesome children. They are good learners, love people, and enjoy what the Lord has given them. Until next time...
