Confirmation Day, Winona, USA

There are many important days in one's life, but few rank as high as this one. I can think of a few...wedding days, birth-days of children, baptisms. However, confirmation day must be included.
This is Josh with his two god-fathers Scott and Verlyn
and their wives after examination on Saturday.

It was a rather emotional day. Even dear old dad got a little 'misty' when presenting Josh with his special verse during the service.
Josh and fellow confir-women after church.

Josh and his mami and papi getting their pictures taken.
Eveyone is so happy, but so hungry!

Josh's godfather Scott was able to be at the service.

Josh was very proud to get his picture with Grandma Hahn!
Josh must have been thinking... Grandma came for this and brought me butterhorns.

Even the bros and sis were happy Josh was finally confirmed.
Now they could eat!

While waiting for Ben, Erik and Jacob S. to get back with the chicken from China, oh, I mean Walmart, Josh dug into the doughnuts for the Sunday School kiddos.

At least, Josh didn't start eating his cake.

Mr. David J began Josh's college fund. By the looks of it and the final count, Josh better hope for a full ride scholarship somewhere! That was it for cashola!

After a very satisfying meal, Josh started opening presents.
Everyone was VERY interested to see if Josh was going to open theirs first.
Actually, Heather (on the right) didn't care.

Sam wanted in on the goods.

Josh and his good friend Joel were comparing suits, shirts and ties. Just about all the same. Hmm... They must be have a little estrogen in them to compare clothes, eh?

It was great to have so many come for Josh's confirmation. Thanks ya'll for coming.
Mark! Wish you could've been here! Hope the chickens are doing fine!

We are so thankful for all that came to celebrate... Grandma Hahn, Godfather Scott and Judy, Godfather Verlyn and Aunt Kelly, the Schaffers (minus Colonel Sanders), the Ketelhohns, the Kuehners, the Jacobs, the Nelsons, the lone ranger Duane P., and all Josh's bros and sis.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Let the rain and cold come on days like this. It was truly warm and great with family and friends.

It's Maundy Thursday

Gloom, despair and agony on me,
Each in themselves is excessive misery.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
Gloom, despair and agony on me.

Oh, how sorry I am to have led your to our blog each day this week only to let you down. Oh, how sorry I am! Please forgive me. We are all so sorry.
Nick and Me - We're really sorry.
Even Sam is sorry... just look at him!
Katy and Kaska are appalled.
Cindy wants to make it up to you with breakfast.
Josh will serve you with a smile.
Anyways, it's Maundy Thursday - the day Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper and the evening during which Jesus' intense suffering started for the payment of our sins.

We're off to church tonight. Hope you are too.

Kaska & Klan

Recently, a movie was produced called Marley and Me. Katy really wanted to watch the movie so we rented it. Its a cute movie on the line of Old Yeller, only modernized. If you get a chance to watch it, keep a box of kleenex nearby.

OR

If you'd like to live a Marley and Me experience, you are more than welcome to visit Winona and the Hansens because we have our own version. It's called 'Kaska and Klan.' Miss Mischevious was at her best today, especially helping the kids get their homework done. All she was preoccupied with this evening was to do a pencil check on the table, then sharpen them with her own "pencil sharpeners." Crazy dog!

We never realized that our dog was so much like the one in the movie. She's a member of the family, but she's definitely 'the dawg. '
God's blessings on this Palm Sunday. Hope this Holy Week will be full of time for all of us to ponder what Jesus has done for us.
